Aleksandra Kubiak (born in 1978 in Luban, Poland) – a visual artist, author of performance art pieces, films, spacial forms. Between the years 2002 – 2013 together with Karolina Wiktor, she created the Chief Judge Group. In 2010 she recommenced her solo work which resulted in the release of the film 'Dolce Vita' (2011). With the Chief Judge Group was nominated for the awards Paszporty Polityki (2011) and Spojrzenia (2007); the artists became the laureates of the International Performance Contest in Trento, Italy (2007) and won the TVP Kultura awards (2005). Both individual artworks by Kubiak, as well as those created with the Chief Judge Group have been exhibited in the most important galleries and museums in Poland and around the world. Since 2014 Aleksandra Kubiak has been working on an authobiographical cycle of works, in which she combines her often very difficult, traumatic family experiences with a certain film experiment, blurring the borders of performance, documentary feature and theatre.
